Salt kala namak
In India and Pakistan, Kala Namak is one of the most traditional ingredients, the "Indian black salt," also famous as the "salt of vegans." Despite its name, Kala Namak is not black in color, but has a pinkish-gray hue due to its mineral composition.
This "sulfur salt" is a typical Indian mineral with a distinctive sulfurous flavor, more like that of a hard-boiled egg than salt as we are used to know it.This is precisely why, in order to give it a slight egg flavor, it is used as a seasoning in typical vegan foods.
This type of salt is widely used in Indian and Asian cooking to add flavor to dishes. It is often used as a final seasoning to flavor fruits, snacks, chutneys, and other dishes. In addition, Kala Namak contains a variety of beneficial minerals, such as iron, calcium, and magnesium.
