Thanks to their delicate taste and an exceptional texture, squid are among the most delicious types of molluscs! They prefer coastal waters and live both on the surface and at depths of up to 500 m. After it is caught, the squid is processed quickly without rinsing and without icing, to maintain the full freshness of the product.
Don Gambero’s “squid ribbons” are made from beautiful squid, cleaned and cut into strips and packaged in practical 100 g vacuum-packed bags, which guarantee the structure, flavor, aroma and unchanged nutritional values of the product. The practicality of Don Gambero’s “Ready to Use” product range: thawing the product only takes about 10 minutes in cold water, after which it is enough to extract it from the packaging, having maintained all its freshness.
The company
Established in 2014, Don Gambero is a dynamic fishing company based in Mazara del Vallo, which inherited a long tradition of sailors and fishermen in the temple of the Ammaru Russu, the name given to red shrimp in the Sicilian dialect.
Don Gambero does not only specialize in red shrimp available in various versions (whole, just tails and tartare), but also offers many other frozen products, selected and expertly processed: the best fish and seafood of the Aegadian Islands, Sciacca, Trapani and Mazara del Vallo.
