La Chinata is a family-owned company, founded in 1975, that makes smoked paprika of the highest quality. A product made entirely in its land of origin and undergoing numerous strict controls, from the moment the raw material is purchased from the farmers, to the realization of the final product.
The History
The name "La Chinata" comes from the name of the villagers (Malpartida de Plasencia) where the company's founder, Florentino Oliva, was born. Currently, "La Chinata" smoked paprika powder has gained international prestige, exporting to more than 50 countries and being present in major supermarkets and gourmet markets around the world.
The smoked paprika
What makes the difference is the type of bell pepper used: the sweet version, obtained from the Bola and Jaranda varieties, is characterized by a delicate taste, ideal for those who do not like intense and strong flavors, but simply as a complement to the course. The main characteristic of this paprika lies in its smoking: the autumn rains typical of the Vela region prevented natural drying in sunlight. For this reason, local growers were forced to design an alternative process, namely drying with oak smoke. This drying process gives it a distinct aroma, deep rooted flavor and color stability, distinguishing it from any other paprika powder.
