100% Black Cherry Fruit Spread

“If we give up on being the best, we accept that we are the worst.” This is the inspirational phrase with which every year Francis Miot has been encouraging his collaborators to improve and produce – for 30 years now – the best jams in France.

Located in Uzos, in the south-western part of France, in the Pyrenees area, the company bases its success on four key principles: the aspiration to excellence, the constant quality – both in the raw material and in the finished product –, the artisanal nature of the production process and, finally, creativity – a fundamental ingredient in today’s saturated jam sector. The 100% fruit range is one of the latest additions to the Miot house: no added sugar (sucrose or fructose) but only sugars derived from 100% fruit.

But why are they called “spreads” and not simply jams?

Because the European Legislation no. 1169 of 2011 has finally made the distinction between industrial and artisan products: spreads are fruit mixtures that contain at most between 45% and 50% added sugars, so common jams or marmalades essentially contain more sugars than fruit itself. Spreads are synonymous with artisanal production processes and are a healthy, refined and delicious product.

The fruit is selected from eco-responsible and supportive producers, to fully safeguard and preserve the aromas, flavors and organoleptic properties of the raw materials. To respect the exceptional quality of their taste, the raw materials are harvested exclusively just beyond the ideal ripening point: in fact, at this moment the fruit is much more sugary, containing more fructose, which makes it possible to avoid having to add sugar in excessive quantities.

A collection of delectable and authentic recipes available in various formats: from single 30 g portions, up to 850 g jars for anyone who loves homemade desserts.

A short cooking time in small copper cauldrons makes it possible to maintain the authentic flavor and nutritional properties of the selected fruit.
