Italian Black Garlic Cream Small Jar
Umami black garlic is a unique and refined product: a harmony of flavors, ranging from balsamic to licorice. Offered in 90 g glass jars, the cream is made from whole heads of White Polesano PDO garlic, expertly fermented thanks to the skills of two young and resourceful biologists from Piedmont.
After the long fermentation process the garlic turns black, acquires new fragrances and will be able to enhance every culinary creation, from savory to sweet. Next, it is processed into a delicious cream with the addition of olive oil and water, ideal to spread on a piece of fresh bread or to flavor risottos and sauces.
The place of origin of black garlic is not known precisely: it is said that it was born in Korea, the home of fermented foods. Certainly, thanks to the ingenuity and curiosity of chefs it eventually arrived in Europe, becoming a main ingredient of Western contemporary cuisine. Black garlic has also gained fame thanks to its health properties, extremely rich in antioxidants, as well as capable of regulating cholesterol in the blood. Moreover, thanks to the fermentation process, black garlic is extremely easy to digest.

Located between the Langhe and Roero, in north-west Italy, Umami is a young company specialized in the production of black garlic and black shallot, Italian raw materials of the highest quality processed exclusively based on traditional methods.
Research and study led 2 young biologists in the area to specialize in the natural transformation of food, exploring new tastes and nuances of flavor capable of enhancing any dish.
