The Kombu Seaweed has an intense, salted and slightly smoked flavor. The color could be brown or golden and the texture is crunchy, almost cartilaginous.
It comes in thick stems, deriving from sheets which are divided in strips. The high content of fibers makes the seaweed a great ingredient for every meal. It is rich in minerals and a great source of magnesium. Kombu seaweed is very useful when cooking sauces, broths and stewed meat or fish.
The Company
Porto-Muiños is a family business formed by husband and wife, Antonio Muíños and Rosa Mirás. In 1998, they began processing seaweed and selling it in dry or canned form. Today their products can be found in powdered, salted and fresh form, the latter in particular are having great success. Antonio and Rosa have built the success of their company on the study and dissemination of the organoleptic characteristics of seaweed.

How to use: desalinate by immersing the product in water, change the water 3 times. This is a product with high iodine content so we recommend its use for the preparation of broths and infusions (1g of kombo seaweed per liter of water), once cooked remove the seaweed and use the liquid.
