For Ordine Contadino, the land is the exclusive element of wealth, considering the landscape as of stimulating participation to create a new balance in nature. The farm Ordine Contadino aims for broad sustainability and a synergistic-wild method to give birth to the highest quality herbs, excluding treatments with synthetic products, to use 100% natural origin substances.
How it all began
In 2010, renovation work began on the first ruin purchased by Danilo Nadalini and Gertrude Pum to transform an area that had been forgotten for years. All around the ruin was a boundless forest lacking the crops of yesteryear, but also in the total absence of pasture farming. Danilo and Gertrude then began by listening to the stories of the inhabitants of Gresta to better understand the place and to redevelop and transform the landscape. An improvement intervention of aesthetics and preservation, to revive the spirit of the place and the inhabitants and revive old traditions.
The change
Landscape regeneration interventions were thus born with the creation of the farm Ordine Contadino, specializing in vegetables, fruit trees, sheep, donkeys, beekeeping, grains, chestnut trees, flowers, and medicinal plants. Ordine Contadino has restored 3 natural springs and has a well that draws groundwater at 70 meters, reclaimed so far 4 hectares of the 8 hectares it owns and keeps 20 beehives, recovered 15 ancient fruit trees and cleared 6,000 square meters of chestnut grove.
