Meat of fish? What to choose for your Christmas lunch

Christmas lunch is one of the most anticipated moments of the Holidays. In Italy, as well in many other countries around the world, the traditional December 25th lunch is all about family, conviviality, good food and loved ones. While it’s certainly not set in stone, in Italy tradition has it that the Christmas Day menu consists primarily of meat, as opposed to the Christmas Eve dinner which, instead, typically offers fish dishes. In fact, each Italian region has its own diverse habits and traditions. While the menus may vary, there is one common rule for Christmas lunch: it must be elegant and the dishes served must speak of quality. With this in mind, we wanted to give you the flexibility to choose between impressing your guests with either meat or fish inspired menus. Follow us in the coming weeks as we will guide you to discover our impeccable Christmas menus.

What will our Christmas lunch menus include?

In the four weeks leading up to the magic of Christmas, we will reveal two dishes every week – one featuring meat and one featuring fish – which will compose our gourmet tasting menus.

Appetizers

Our appetizers will consist of traditional dishes. We will show you how, using high quality raw materials, just a few steps are enough to create truly impressive dishes! Our meat appetizer will feature foie gras, while we will begin our seafood tasting menu with oysters reinterpreted in a gourmet key.

Entrées

A great menu, of course, requires great interpreters! Our entrées will be “signature” dishes and, in true Italian style, will feature pasta and rice! Our chef Giorgio Guglielmetti will propose a reinterpretation of an iconic dish created by Maestro Gualtiero Marchesi, while the other dish will be interpreted by a starred chef.
